New Commandments

Last Edit June 25, 1999

Why can't the ten commandments be re-worded to be non-religious and used in the schools?
Ditto the Golden Rule? Like this:

  • No religious practice allowed in school. Nor arguments about religion or politics.

  • Be polite. Say Please. and Thank you. Treat other people as you would wish to be treated.

  • No swearing. No obscene language. Or gestures.

  • No killing. Anything. Therefore, no weapons of any kind.

  • No cheating. No screwing around if you are in a committed relationship. Don't date your teacher.

  • No stealing.

  • No lying.

  • No smoking.

  • Hitting is reserved for punching bags in the gym.

  • No drinking alcohol.

  • No drugs.

  • No jealousy. You will not begrudge any other student their gym sneakers, team jacket, girlfriend, etc.

  • Don't catch something or make something you don't want to keep. This applies to disease and babies.

  • No disrespect. You will respect your parents, mother, father, step-father, step-mother, aunt, uncle or whosoever is charged to be your guardian. You will respect your teachers. You will do this even if you do not feel that they deserve it. You will be respected only if you earn it.

And put the kids in uniforms.
