Kathy's Kitty Litter and Microwave Pudding

Last Edit August 10, 1999

If you can use the microwave directions on the pudding box - you too can make this! It's Easy!
Save it for a party. I take it booze heightens the effect when you present it!
  • 1 NEW cat pan of reasonable (standard) dimensions - not one of the super deep ones

  • First layer: 1 package Crushed Oreo cookies (Sit on these! Make crumbs!) mixed up with 3 Cups CHOCOLATE pudding - cooked, not instant (use the microwave).

  • Second layer: 3 Cups WHITE cream pudding (or Banana Cream).

  • TOP: One box Vanilla Wafer crumbs (sit on these but a hammer works better)

  • One bag of Tootsie rolls, melted slightly (cat leaving size) - make them look like kitty-droppings. We all know what that looks like!
Distribute over the wafer crumbs. (Gag!)

  • Serve with a NEW slotted cat litter scoop.
Got this from one of the group at Red Lobster.

        Enjoy!
Actually she's promised to present it to us next time we meet --- am I ready for that?

How To Microwave Pudding

When instant pudding doesn't cut it, there are mixes for cooking pudding up on the stove. However, making pudding on top of the stove, in a double boiler, is a bit of an art form. It is easy to become impatient. It is easy to undercook. If you don't have a double boiler, the possibilities are endless for disaster. So, microwave it!

1 oz. Box of stove-top pudding mix (any flavor)
        3 cups of milk (regular, 2%, 1% or skim);
for skim milk, add additional 1/4 Cup skim milk powder

Place in a glass casserole dish with a lid
Microwave on high for 2 minutes.
        Stir with a wire whisk.
        Microwave another 2 minutes.
Repeat stirring and cooking in 2-minute intervals for a total time of about 8 minutes, until the mixture boils.
Pudding will not be thick (set) until it cools.

Mush Cake

My mother grew up in the depression and we were a farm family, ergo, nothing is wasted. So, if you have cake that didn't raise right, or it got under cooked, or a bit overdone (but not burned) or cake or cookies that have sat around too long, here's a little sugar coma you can make to save them. You may want to remove the icing from the cake if it has one.

        Stale cake or cookies
or a cake that didn't quite make it
Break it up into chunks (about 1" cubes)
Place in a 14"x8"x2" baking pan (approximate) or use a 3 quart casserole dish
Prepare a package of pudding (3 Cups) in the microwave (any flavor; chocolate for white cake, vanilla pudding for chocolate cake, etc.)
Pour pudding on top of cake - distribute evenly - do not stir
Cool and serve with Cool Whip, Reddi Whip or plain

This is a kid's favorite. But then, they like anything sweet.
