It's Been a Long Time Since I Last Saw Fabio

It's been a long time since I last saw Fabio. And now he is doing a TV blitz tour. Because he is finally on the cover of a book - a cookbook that is!
And the ICBINB people are sending him out and about to spread the word. No pun intended.
He was in Washington for an Italian-American get together and received an award. And the Washington post ran a story and photo. Actually, they ran two stories - seems he called them up (also part of the blitz) and said a few things. I probably missed him on the radio - they usually hit a number of stations at once. But the TV shows and the article made a few things clear.
Like, want a thrill - get on the back of his dirt bike!
OK.
When would he like me to do that?
And he stores about 20 dirt bikes in his kitchen! And few in his hall. He was showing them off in a video B-roll they ran on Extra. It was made in February when they did the cookbook cover photo shoot.
He did wheelies for MTV's talk show. And threw Green in his pool.
He went to Heffner's Hollywood bash in costume - I didn't get to see the bit on Extra! So I don't know what he was wearing.
He was on Rosanne - and she was concerned about the goose. Wouldn't talk about the cookbook.
And he's looking for a wife.
Actually, after he was on Rosanne, we know his MOTHER is pushing him to find one.
Yes, he does date. And yes, he has been almost to the alter. And no, I don't know if he's got someone at the moment - he doesn't discuss that with me.
Doesn't discuss anything actually.
I send e-mail every month.
And once in a while I get some information.
A sentence.
Maybe.
No photos.
No advance warning.
I have to rely on others catching him on the East coast so I have a chance to catch him on the West coast.
And sometimes I do. But most of the time I don't.
It can be very, very frustrating!
Now we know he is to tape Leeza - and the TV studio tracked me down. (They go out on the web and hunt information and with 60Mbytes on-line, I have information!)
But, horrors!
It's the very same day that I am going to be in San Diego (within an hours drive from the TV studio) at the photo shoot for my novel, Jettison. With my other cover model, Troy Sutter.
And I will be busy.
Too busy.
It is not possible to be everywhere I need to be!
I am writing a 90-100 slide apnote (using note format in PowerPoint) at work - so I am bent over a keyboard all day. Tcl - tool command language (another derivative of C). I am making three vests for the photo shoot - so I am bent over a sewing machine at night. I am answering e-mail at night too - so I am also bent over a keyboard.
And now I have the fun of sending nasty-grams to Apple - like, Where is my G4????? Of course since I ordered the top of the line (500MHz) I can't get it! And even with a discount and saying that I will accept 450MHz (with writeable DVD and a 27Gig harddrive), I still can't get it! And my son sits playing games on his! I need mine for the novel!
I guess it's time to get the G3 notebook out of the lingerie drawer and add a monitor to it. Already got the keyboard and mouse. And the little Orb.
I was so tired tonight that I fell asleep in the car in the college parking lot - my son was late. I got in about an hour nap. Then had trouble driving in the dark.
Oh well.
My son is also tired - boys get real crabby by the end of the week.
He's doing very well in art - want s to take 7 classes next semester.
Slow down! Where's the fire!
His sketches are good enough to frame.
His photos are also good enough to be posters.
He will come with me to San Diego to document the shoot.
Too bad I couldn't just drive us all to LA afterward and take Fabio to dinner!
Maybe I'll get up the nerve to ask Eric about that!
Have model, have photographer - will travel.
We all know that I am persistent!
Meantime, watch Conan - he's taping next week in LA - and Fabio tends to drop in when he does that.
And he won't tell me ahead of time.
