- Johnathan has relapsed with AML (leukemia) after the second transplant (done December 9th). He had one antibody treatment Jan 12th. Tuesday he was diagnosed with pneumonia - almost always fatal with neutropenic kids (no immune system). It turns out that he had one chemo treatment too many - from which he could not recover. (He did beat the pneumonia and was off the machines for 18 hours.) And in the end, AML bloomed. They said 0% chance of recovery. His heart, lung, kidneys and liver were failing. His directions are to "Fight" - so we did just that until it was hopeless - and several doctors said so. Multiple organ failure and incredible pain on the horizon. We need a better solution to this living hell.
