COMCAST is here - telling me YET AGAIN that I shouldn't be getting 189, 190, etc (KQED channels).
They run fine on two of the three sets!!!!.
AND -- the other guy who had Andy run a line thru the attic to both John's room and my family room .
---- did not have John's TV hooked up to it!!!!!.
So besides the cable laying on the floor ---- with a broken connector ----.
it wasn't going to run anyway!!!!.
I now have a new longer cable - can move the TV around a bit.
They also gave his room a new box - because the box breaks if it can't find a signal-----.
(I had to open the garage door and move John's Urn - heavy sucker.
so it would not be knocked about).
(Sad thing to knock about someone's ashes).
But he's not attached to them at all -- just something I know.
And the lower numbered channels are now CLEAR on all sets.
Well - of course.
Antenna effect.
But I still can't get On Demand and the added KQED channels in the family room.
So the COMCAST guy is out in the truck discussing the problem ----.
And I feel that if 189 etc goes - so do I as a customer-----.
I will go to the Dish!!!! Chuck has one - loves ithmmmm so now the box isn't getting enough signal -----.
Well - that's what a new line was to correct---- wasn't it????.
And then we got the lower channels clear----.
And then we got 189!!!!.
So now the box is in pieces and I don't know what the heck they are doing.
I have a different story every time they come out----.
They should at least get the stories straight!!!.
I just got the Ruby sheets --------- 600 ct sheets.
I will pre-wash them and put them on the bed this week-end.
I also got Chuck's Food Processor.
And I bought BOTH of us additional disks - so I could chop up things with thicker slices.
And grate stuff and etc etc - we each have a set of add-on disks.
so now -----.
I have no excuse not to cook.
Note how one day I am bipping along - and another day I am in the toilet.
It is the sunshine - it is SUNNY!!!!! I even pulled some weeds! Will do more tonight perhaps!.
After I dump the litter pan which is about ready to walk around the room by itself.
I must remember to change it more often---.
And Ranger barfed at my feet while I was having breakfast.
I left it there (I would have barfed) and ran out of the room.
So I have to scrub my kitchen.
The COMCAST guy has surfaced with a new solution.
Well --- turns out - way back - 6 years ago - when we put on the addition ---.
they (COMCAST) LEFT the old TV cable connection running.
I thought it was odd that I could get channels without an antenna----.
only discovered it recently when we cleaned up the place.
Well --- that means a 4-way splitter on the cable.
Which made the TV furtherest away from the main junction gets the weakest signal..
So they put on an unbalanced 3-way splitter - driving the TV in the family room.
With a stronger signal (plus disconnected Beta- which was not on cable anyway).
So now I have on Demand and the KQED stations ....... oh la la.
"On Demand" runs in my family room now--- I try for free movies on occasion.
Watched one so far - so much for that feature!
Sense and Sensibility - again for the thousandth time - I also own the DVD.
and a TV set (12") to put on arial in the kitchen when I am done..
Local stations. News while cooking..
Not that I watch news anymore.
Tired of the death watches.
Of course - It is probably time to get the trees out of the rain gutter----.
I did pull enough weeds to fill the recycling bin.
nearly 2' high - all that rain ------.
John sent me sunbeams today.
I know he did.
I felt better.
