Trim 10 - Mom 0

2005 Story Set

Date: December 16, 2005
OK - I was being clever when I left for Fremont.
I had Trim in the side yard dog pen - with the damaged side garage door.
I OPENED the hole up in the damaged door so she could get in the garage while I went to Fremont.
I Nailed a sheet of plywood over the kitchen door to protect it - since she has seen it open once - she knows it is a door. She has attacked it once.
I barricaded the gate going to the front wooden fence gate with a pallet
I barricaded the back gate going to the back yard with two BIG camper boxes and two cat cages
      I thought --- that will work ----.
      Sure it will.

I left about 9AM to drive back to San Deigo today (Friday) and if I ever drive to LA on a Friday again please somebody shoot me!
It was foggy - so there was no wide open view - all the way down. It was freezing (30s) cold - usually I drive in a tank top and have the air up high - now I drove with the heat on high and shivered.
It was depressing - so I stopped at different places to break the pattern.
I came over the grapevine fine - Latte in hand - and saw --- brake lights.
Brake lights all the way home from there (150 miles) - sometimes 8-10 lanes wide.
That was 3 - got home at 7.
      I was shaking.
      My butt hurts.
My left leg ached (tripped over the log barricading the wooden front gate while staggering with the spa motor in my arms (one arm while opening the gate) and wrenching my left leg before I left - it has not calmed down yet).

I called Chuck at about 3? when I hit the traffic - he was in a meeting - he called back 3 hours later - I was still in LA!
I called him back again when I got home.

I was worried about the dog and cat.
In the house - Ranger came when I opened the cat food.
      OK - one down.
I had yelled over the fence and heard a whine.
      OK - two.
Brought dog in - you open her gate and she's like a bullet to the back door, waits (having rammed herself into said door a couple of times she now stops), then on my OK wham - into her bad - flop!

I was getting ready to call Chuck and I opened the kitchen door to the garage (the one I nailed the plywood over).
      I started laughing.
The plywood is down - it has a hole chewed thru the side.
The molding on the kitchen door has been seriously assaulted. (The door is a heavy fire door - she can't get thru it. She has tried.)
I looked thru the window and saw she had tried to get to the drapes (under tool boxes and stuff) and had knocked things over.

OK - time to try out the BACK pen -----.
I was trying to give her room and cement to run on - the back is stones and hard on her feet - designed for big dogs, swing sets, rabbits, and whatever other use we came up with over the years.
      It's the time-out pen.
She will be in it tomorrow because I have to clear a path for the new kitchen stove.
