On Buying a Cute Little MacBook

      Sooo --- I called Chuck, my older son and the Programming God of CISCO
     
      and said --- gee I have no email in San Diego unless I HAUL the G5 TOWER, flat screen, other related pieces, and modem BACK DOWN
      and I will be there SEVERAL DAYS
     
      so there's this new toy --- A MacBook he said - and he sent me to the Apple.com website - where I had been looking for an iBook but not liking them
     
      2GHz Intel Core DUO
     
      WHICH IS $1500 AFTER ADDED RAM (to 1GB)
     
      and Apple Care and shipping make it $2035.28 - excuse me Apple Care and TAXES
      Shipping is FREE
     
      so my Visa is whimpering again
     
      Once it's here, Chuck will help me set up to do email with it
      and not the G5

      And it is 13" and little and light (5 lbs) and will fit in my damn purse (I use a backpack)
     
            WAAAAAAAAH!
           
            My MacBook's ESTIMATED ship date will mean it arrives the day I eave for San Diego -----

      I just got confirmation
     
      The MacBook arrives the 30th!
     
      DAMN DAMN DAMN
     
      No sense in shipping it to me ---- just need to rescue it and put it in the house
      I'll take the G5 with me
     
      or just ignore 1000-2000 junk mail messages and hope no one goes crazy in the Fabio fan club

      if I leave Friday and come back the 5th
      ABout 2000 junk mails - which I have to read at least the from because
      Apple tosses everything into the trash these days
     
      one of my rules is too general I guess
     
      I just don't want it sitting on the sidewalk for a week
     
      So people gave me advise
     
      When I ordered from Apple.com, I had to sign a live signature to receive the package--they wouldn't leave it on the doorstep. If whatever service is delivering yours will leave a computer on your doorstep (unlikely), you can leave a note on the door asking them not to. Or, if you have the tracking number, you might be able to call the shipping company and have the computer redirected to your SD address. I've done that too.
     
      ugh!
     
      I will cal them MONDAY - see if I can get it one day sooner or 5 days later or ship to Chuck ------
      The 30th I wil be driving down and the 5th I will be driving up and the other work days I am --- AT WORK!
      He works at home on Fridays ----- the day of delivery.
      Oh this should be interesting.
     
      Can I have my MacBook PLEASE!!!!!!

      And Chuck? Already threatened to kidnap it.

      How did I forget I swore, afer the fiasco in finding my "shipped" G4 tower, that next time - just go into the $%^$#$% store!
