Sunday Shopping Spree

2007 Story Set

December 2, 2006

What fall and the holidays mean is --- MOMMA needs to treat herself broke or not (and I am) armed with a credit card (BAD MOMMY!)
      I went shopping.

      Lane Bryant .

I needed new underpants - mine were showing some decided wear - and not just the 100 limit - the panties are sagging - we never notice when it's OURS - we notice other peoples.
Son's socks look worn and dingy - replace them - son briefs hanging at half-mast - replace them son's jeans too small, too torn up, too whatever, replace them
But we mothers walk around looking like something from the jumble sale.

I saw myself in the mirror - still with a pot belly (blame the nuts, chocolate and whatever carbs I manage to shove in my face as I cheat on my diet - oh that will stop) - UGH (esp with uncombed hair! and no make up - double ugh).
My underwear had strings hanging, doesn't look good under even loose pants - and I am wearing better fitting ones now and they (the underpants) tend to fall off (a couple of them are well past expiration even with the gentle cycle on the washer) - along with the bra with the stretched-out side panels and dropping straps.

So I went shopping and got into a sale.
First the underpants - I got red, red stripes, black, white, and black and white stripes, 5 pairs underpants for $XX.
Pseudo granny panties - I will know what's under those black slacks!

I also got a pair of red bikini pants for me that say Santa's little helper
Not so little if I am wearing size 18-20 undies (I wear 14-16 everything else)
      12 is my "normal" size

I spotted PJs - I got baggy red plaid striped pants (long) - really cute and a red tank top that says "Naughty Girls Get More Presents".
      HA!
Perfect outfit to write romance in (and after Christmas I am getting back to that big time - time to SELL SOMETHING)

I ordered two black bras (I am now a 40B but ordered 42B because I like them loose).
      My best ever was a 34A (age 22) - then a 36C (age 42) - I WILL BE HAPPY AT 38B.
They had a soft almost thick velour pants and hoody jacket in gray - love that - can wear that on Fridays and I got black pants and an exercise top (First time I saw one in their store) - now hanging on the treadmill while I recover my sneakers (My socks are also in San Diego).
My exercise clothing is 1X and doesn't quite work ----.

I got three pretty tops for Christmas since I will have company - can't look too dowdy empire tops - floaty - one clings at the hips - keep my face out of the pie!

They can do double duty at work under a jacket

      I spent $245 - saved $165 - I am a very good power shopper! I love sales!

I need to think about boots or shoes eventually - but I have been really good about staying in my orthodics or low heels (2 1/2 inch) and I have two more pairs to wear out before I need to shop.

      Merry Christmas to me!
