2007 Story Set
| Date: June 11, 2007 Adobe Dreamweaver CS3 How-Tos: 100 Essential Techniques (How-Tos) (Paperback) Adobe Dreamweaver CS3 Classroom in a Book (Paperback) I have been using Dreamweaver since it was invented and I have been doing websites since HTML 1.0 – approx late 1993. I have not had time to keep up – once we got to HTML 4.0+, I stopped reading the full spec. Little wonder that I need to be “refreshed:” One problem I have in doing a fan site is that – if I scan a photoshop image into the system (capture with Photoshop) which is how BOTH scanners work – then I have to do a Save for Web after I set down the bit density and dimensions. Same with the camera images. Takes time. Boring. Back-up occurs (like Fabio on the Today show and on 1 of 100 or whatever it’s called (which just reran his appearance by the way). So ----- what to do? I got Dreamweaver 8 – which supposedly has templates (I am looking, I am looking!) and I need to go thru the What’s New? Since I skipped the last several (They update too fast!) And I JUST UINSTALLED 8! And here comes CS3!!!! GAG! Well --- this is the first "Adobe takes possession" issue of Dreamweaver and what do they tell me? I can now drag and drop Photoshop right into Dreamweaver which evidently does the proper saving of the art file so you can load the external browser – RIGHT FROM DREAMWEAVER!!! YES YES YES So I am running out to get more books to read and I have discovered that the classroom in a book is as good as (almost) taking a live class (it’s just the questions that you may have – and you can always call Adobe --- good luck with that!) Time to do that!!!! Because I need to “Fix” the Fabio site and I need to “Fix” about 10 others Pulls downs (java) and floating widths and CSS and all that jazz Oh yeah – I have been asleep at the switch! Wonder what I was doing? Oh yes – all day yesterday I was writing – a new story – “Naked Guy in the Desert” – what I called it as I began writing – not the final title – but you get the idea --- one of my CHiPs Out of Uniform stories. Need three in good shape (Oh no pun there!) and then I will try to sell them. While I master the new tricks on website design. |
