Sunday morning is dark and gray

2008 Story Set

Date: February 24, 2008

I woke up (rudely awakened) by the dog lapping and chucked her out of the house. (She's now scheduled for dental cleaning - and flea stuff.)
I shut the bedroom since Summer had bolted for the kitchen and food - ha ha,
and I took my draining, gucky eyes back to bed until nearly 10!
I will do anything except sit down and write out the bills! (Always.)
     Of course I will.
By the time I was up, Summer (the over 2 yr old due for shots kitten-cat) was beside herself (Food was supposed to be delivered promptly at 6:30AM). (She has now had her shots.)
The rain - which had still been petering around at 8AM was gone, to be replaced by horrid-looking gray skies.
Trim - after I threw open the drapes - stands and stares at me (until I chase her or close the drapes).
She annoys the bejeebers out of me. (She fixated on me after John's death. Like I would soon do the same disappearing act and not on her watch!)
She is a Ranch dog who thinks she is a hassock! Or should be allowed to be one. (In San Diego, that is her preferred modus of operation - sleep.)
I don't tolerate the "I want in - I want out" routine - she's out for the day
(unless it gets really horrid like late afternoon yesterday - in which case - she is in - in her bed - and never moves). (Vet said she is skunky - due for grooming - and I probably need to wash her bed. I lost my sense of smell.)
I think she believes that If I am not looking at her - she is hiding.
I made decaf - but yuck - don't want it. My nose is stuffed. My eyes I have peeled and washed. Sinus. Weather. Pressure change. Whatever.
Time for antihistamine. Sudafed. But I forgot to get the REAL Sudafed, which takes a trip to the pharmacist and you sign your life away. (The one on the stre sheves is missing the important ingredient. But, with climbing blood pressure, I need to look for the one that doesn't raise your blood pressure. Let me add that to my to-do list.)
You have to answer questions like - "Why do you want this?" "Like - I have a congested head?"
The stuff on the counter is missing ingredients. To mess up the dopers.
I'm so glad the war against drugs was so successful! All the good people are penalized and suffer from their symptoms while the dopers merrily cook away.
I have QVC on - Kitchen with Bob - I love the show.
I am looking at the new Silicon products. The Lock & Store (I love them) and the Fasta Pasta - I want that!
Anything but write out a bill.
My breakfast is one of the new Light English Muffins and one egg cooked in a pat of real butter.
One muffin is 1/3 your fibre requirements. Good. I need that,
I also need a shower (how many days?) - my PJs have toothpaste tracks down the right boob. One track is sloppy. More than one is tacky.
I strip to a caftan - which is ripped up the side - drat - my sewing machine is in San Diego. I really need a new one. You know mothers - wear it until it shreds. And we wonder where men learned to wear their briefs until the last of the elastic gives up and the holes are big enough that they might as well be naked. They watched their MOM!
OK - eat - shower - which might clear my head - and hit the checkbook.
     Seriously.
I promised myself a trip out if I get it done.
Besides - PBS is running the ending of the Colin Firth Pride & Prejudice which I have already watched twice in two weeks (all 6 hours). I also read the book - again.
Last night I was up until 2AM reading The Ice House - a book I picked up at the writing meeting yesterday. It tracked pretty darn close to the PBS movie. Daniel Craig was the star as the detective with three very interesting women and a rip-roaring murder mystery. He has done a LOT of movies - in England - he is really very, very good. (Not so bad naked in the Bond movie either!)
Yes, Daniel - we want to see more of that! You've got the bod - flaunt it! We need the stuff of dreams!)
I haven't seen them all (his movies) but I have seen several. He and Clive Owen are in the 5-pak DVD set from Amazon UK that includes the Ice House. I am thinking I need to get that. And the other books.
The Scold's Bridle was unnerving. Psychological warfare between men and women. Interesting. Scary. Stays with you. Make you go - "I'm fine! Really!"
And then there's another one about dismemberment I believe.
Oh yes. Certain times of the month I get bloodthirsty.
