Hysterical Food Choices

First of all - we are all fat - F_A_T

We should stop claiming to be "overweight", "husky" or "Chubby"

It is no longer baby fat when the baby in question is over 30

"Obese" is the term we need to acknowledge - our doctors do----

We run around collecting information

Calorie counting

Fat gram counting

Sugar counting

And we are still FAT

They tell us the following:

For belly fat - eat:   nuts (almonds); Olives; Chocolate (Dark); Olive Oil (no more frying in Crisco no matter how good it tastes); Avocados

For heart health - eat: whole grains; nuts (almonds, walnuts, others); chocolate (dark); Use Olive oil; Bright colored fruit (raspberries, Strawberries, Blackberries, purple grapes); Raw salads (but watch the dressings - use a non-fat or fat-free dressing); salmon, chicken (no skin); other fish; dark red wine or grape juice

Chocolate is restricted to 1 OZ dark per day

nuts to 1/4 cup

red wine - 1/2 to no more than 1 glass - probably not everyday

reduce sugar

limit the oil even if it is olive oil

limit the whole grains - no more than 2 slices a day - or a bowl of Cheerios (skim milk) - not both

peanuts count as nuts - but reduce the salt

Planter's has a Heart-healthy collection ----  nose bag fever

A bowl of oatmeal can start your day

Counting calories, mindful of things I should eat, I still overeat.

If it's 100 calories - I can have it -----  well - the idea is ONE 100 cal snack - not 3 or 4! per DAY

And if one handful of nuts is good for you, whay not more?  (Because they contain FAT)

I like fried chicken!

I sometimes crave a sandwich made from mayonaise and thin-sliced cucumbers or thin-sliced tomatoes  (my British is showing - even if my family came over in 1705!)

I love salt on an apple

Peanut butter on celery

A banana rolled in melted chocoalte (or a banana split)

A hot brownie or fudge cake and Vanilla Häagen-Dazs® (OMG - I spelled it right!)

A warm chocolate chip cookie with walnuts

A nice thick juicy steak with fried onions and mushrooms

OK - back to a liquid diet until the stomach recedes and I have a waistline again

been years
