How to Mess Up a Beagle

OK - first - I worked very hard to empty the hall bathroom (I had been using it as a closet) and the bed (ditto) and managed to mostly switch around the closets so the original master bedroom closet holds clothing being WORN.
well - 1/2 success - but the bed is stripped and ready to be tossed.

The sewing machine needs to be vacuumed to pick up the crumbs from the termites (drywood as well as subs - who did I piss off????) (They are coming Wed to treat the pests.)

I pulled up kitchen rugs (headed for washing) and swept up a ton of stuff and did a first-pass mopping (Need to be down on the floor for the last pass- later)
floor is white again. two cats, rain, outdoors, and a puppy will kill a floor.

So puppy and I took off late for our morning 1.6 mile + walk. (Like 10:30 --- Good Grief!)
I had a hat and a tee-type shirt to cover tops of arms.

Grace decided (several times) to be dragged. She plays dead dog and lets me drag her on cement. She made this up while smaller and while playing tug of war.

She did it once on the walk - I cracked up laughing - I managed to get her up (I carry treats).

Someone across the street said she was tired already!
I said no - this is one of her tricks!

Well - she did it several times - usually in the shade (cooling off on wet grass or a shaded sidewalk)- the last time near the house.

She was hot - I was melting!
I carried her 1/2 block - she trotted the remaining steps.

OK - on the PATIO - leash off - and first things first - even before WATER -
she has to pocket-dive and eat ALL TREATS LEFT OVER (her whole head goes into my pocket). I have to sit on the patio sofa and she climbs up (more like sails up) and dives into my pants. Boy I had better be wearing jeans!

Munch munch - I had a lot in there.

OK --- I went in - showered - my clothes were WET from Sweat.

I came out with wet hair and shorts and a bra-less tank top
air unit turned down to 70! Old ladies do not do well in heat.

I had filled her new doggy paddle pool earlier.

Yes - they have them.

I put her in it - and splashed her all over.

She got out - I grabbed a leash - hooked her up and back in ----.

I brought out towels and dried her - that part she likes - the water part she tolerates (she has been groomed) - she's sitting on the sofa licking her feet
she was actually playing grab the toy with me - I am still melting ---- she's peppy
but at least she isn't panting from being too hot,

It is supposedly 80 heading to 92, and I am in a coma.
