2009 Story Set
| May 16, 2009 6:30PM Summer (cat- 2 1/2 years old Queen of house) in kitchen---- Gracie (puppy - almost 11 weeks old - new member of household) in my arms ---- I put wiggle-worm down - feet already running (her state when she sees Summer). Gracie chased Summer the length of the house. Summer went up cat tree. Gracie tired to go up cat tree - that was hilarious. Gracie last seen was tearing back out of family room (?) -- where and why I do not know but am about to find out----- (she's back - under my bare feet). Garage closed - we already did that and the outdoors - only running she's doing is in the house (smart puppy). (Must re-scrub the floor - catch every corner tomorrow - hope it is cooler - I need to load the truck!) - sweat pouring down my neck and face from my hair. Outside - momma sipping last of 3rd diet soda. Gracie supposed to be eating--- I was COLLAPSED in a chair (old people and heat). I put the can on the ground - I did this with a SMALLER double shot can yesterday. (I am running on coffee) Gracie doesn't like cans----- bark bark bark yip bark --- "Nasty old can!" bark bark bark If I set it on a chair - those flipper feet try to swim up to it --- bark and howl We made 1 hour exercise in the 90 degree heat and in the house too - I have her back in her pen with her medicated food - Summer down and prowling for HER dinner (nearly 6:30). Outside Gracie drinks from the hose - and when I turn it on a little - she drinks off the cement. That’s great. Poor Trim had been abused before I rescued her. She would RUN when I touched the hose. Turn on water? She was afraid. The Pup – runs into the sprinklers. Much more normal. Makes me hate animal abusers! Gracie runs around the air conditioner unit WHILE ITS RUNNING Puppy knows no fear Litter pan up - Almond Rocha for dogs is right --- I had to run the pup down to get another cat turd (you cannot BLINK). She ASKED to go out to piddle!!!! Dog is training HERSELF! She used the puppy pads for the other!!! Since I didn't take her out long enough at 2 (like an oven) She played tug of war with a ball of yard - wrapped it around her neck - so much for the yarn balls! Tomorrow I will sweep up cat toys too. Squeakers not a good idea for a hound-dog Beagle. While it lasted - I didn't let her win the tug of war (you cannot – you must be dominant) (she had a mouthful of yarn) but instead tossed the ball and she went for it. She is strong, stubborn and determined. (My loafers have to be up on the counter). She has found she has a bark (ooops!) --- she is barking at the moment from her pen in the third bedroom. She is NEVER very still when out (Well except earlier today when she was panting in the heat and I scooped her up and we ran for the house. I was panting. Yikes!) I am exhausted!!! Air-conditioners are beating their brains out. Later tonight I will examine the directions for the new pet safety gates - they are pressure gates - should hold her for a bit. Should fit the kitchen in San Diego (two exits) and should give her more playroom when confined. I remember a child gate and a rabbit down there ------ |
