Timmy Tacoma is Still Clean and Neat - and Very Wet!

2001

December 3, 2001
I took my truck to work - and I couldn't lower the passenger window!
      And I freaked out!
      Because I am claustrophobic!
And the rain goes INSIDE the door of the driver's side when you lower the window.
      That's weird!
And there is this little smuggy thing on the passenger door in the fabric. I thought it was just the nap pressed down - the nap is actually missing in a spot.
      It annoys me.
      Because Timmy is currently unblemished.
I went to work first in the rain - Timmy stays in the far side of the parking lot - away from the bad cars that might ding my doors.
Timmy goes to the supermarket at off hours.
Timmy does not go to the hospital (can't fit in the parking lot) and does not go to the gym, where big bad ugly trucks accumulate.
Timmy Tacoma is shiny and new.
      And wet.
With leaves in the back that circle and swirl and flutter down to the street as I speed down the freeway.
I call Toyota about Timmy's window and the spot on the door.
And, at lunchtime, I go to the dealer and pull in.
My normal guys are not there. And I haven't eaten since breakfast (more than four hours) so I am not pleased.
      About anything.
Turns out, there is a window lock (why?) and someone set it. (That someone giggled when I told him this later on. The brat.)
And the door is designed to take water inside (and leave your window a mess) - there are little drain holes in the bottom of the door for runoff.
Because Timmy is designed to get down and dirty. Eventually.
And the smuggy spot on the door - the missing nap - will need an entire door panel replaced!
Take a week to get the part. The manager came out - looked at it - and OK'd the replacement.
They directed me out the back of the building and then turn left.
I have never driven out that way.
I pulled out - and had to jockey the car between poles. Timmy is big. Timmy doesn't turn quickly.
Because Timmy takes about 1/2 acre to turn in - 45-46 feet if tightly pulled.
And then, before me, I see a narrow ramp hard against a pole. The drop is too much for my truck if I miss. I am not used to parallel parking the Tacoma yet.
I must have looked really terrified - because someone waved to me to come ahead and guided me down. I managed to get the wheels so I didn't drop the truck off the side of the ramp.
I will strangle that guy who directed me out here!
I went over to parts - and got new floor mats - because I have the old ones from the other truck in there and they are dirty.
Timmy must be kept clean and neat.
Because my house sure isn't! And I don't care! I am cold, it is wet, and I need to go to the gym. 45 minutes (after 6 miles yesterday.)
I have a headache. And I want to be in bed curled up with a book. Except it is freezing in my room.
So someone might get dragged into my room and under the covers because he is big and cuddly and warm and needs to earn his keep and keep Mommy warm.
Especially after playing with Timmy's window lock!
And I don't care how old he is!
