The last time he had surgery - they did not detect high amonia. He did not wake up. I was in the elevator - they had him bagged. He was unable to say he was aware of what they were doing. They knocked his out, paralized him,
and put him on a ventilator. Second time on one. When we added the cross to his bed - actually taped securly above the bed, his blood pressure stablilized and he woke up.
They did an EKG while he was out;. I grabbed a camera. His remarks on seeing this? "But it's OK, Mom. I did wake up." This was in one of several cameras I carried around and I just got the photos back. I was shocked to see this. How soon we try to forget.
He is now an honoree for the Peninsula Tri (athalon) Team in Training. (See below) We do get out a bit now. He can take limited walks. We go to movies. I buy him anything he wants. Almost.
And we both went back on a diet........... |
