Diet Diary - Day 15

2002 Story Set

May 10, 2002
      Day 15 Tuesday April 30, 2002 Hunter-Gatherer

I woke up at 10:00 AM which is not surprising since I was still awake at 5:00 AM. Must have put cat in bathroom sometime, can't remember. Looked over diary and looked at work done last night (put diary on-line). Had coffee and one of the smaller killer muffins (nearly gone). Warmed in microwave, they are solid. Intestine still not perfect but no cramps.

Need to get kid up but he didn't sleep last night either. Put dog out. Must go feed rabbit. Fed rabbit and watered both. Washed down back sidewalk yet again. Last night it was 37 degrees, nearly snow-on-hills weather and too cold for spa. Bare feet are freezing. Washed down front of rabbit cage since feed rabbit barefoot most of time. Took out one bag trash and watered chinchilla who is busy in her dust bath. Her cage needs to be vacuumed as she has molted. Put trashcan on street (trash day is tomorrow) and noted blooming roses and geraniums. Need to do cat pans (several) as I do pans by rotating them in and out of house. Think about the auto cat pan.

11:30 AM Kid still asleep. Made coffee. Think I will finish my book.

OK - kid was up at the crack of noon and we showered and dressed and had eggs and toast and left for a day (or afternoon) of hunter-gathering. We hit Target and returned something. And then, drifted around gathering. Face cream. Beach towels. Three reasonable sized ones, and one stakable beach blanket. I got a big-handled sieve spoon and he grabbed a vase. We grabbed Snickers (king sized - 510 calories) and soda (20 oz. diet). We each have a speaker phone (finally!) and I got a long cord so his phone can be at his bed. I got blades for me razor and he got a large (but not too large) pepper mill. I almost got my new frying pan since all my no-stick pans now stick. For there we went to the mall (driving around it) and made appointments for eye exams and glasses (at last) and then drifted to Sears, me grabbing 12 more fake roses along the way.

Sears is a mess. It is remodeling. I wanted a bathing suit. No joy. He went for a pair of swim trunks (got three) and oh, by the way, we walked into a sale so he has new Dockers slacks and two Dockers shorts. He picked out a couple of shirts. Bright prints and a couple of slick pullover ones. Shows off his muscles. He found a belt. We made two trips to the cashier. He went to sit and I check the suits (too expensive) and got shorts (big and loose) and two tops (sleeveless) so I had something for Wild Flower Race weekend, Saturday. I went to AA but the line was too long and it was now close to 5PM. We have to leave for a dinner party so Costco and AAA will be put off to tomorrow. Perhaps if we can get up before the crack of noon.

My shopping was under $27. I won't say what he spent! And we still have to find folding chairs for Wildflower, at Costco or TriCity sports mecca.

Guess the truck is still waiting for the lube and oil. I am thinking about it. Must also pay bills (that time of the month). Hate that task. Tedious. Good thing - the Visa card worked and was happy all day.

We have 30 minutes to rest and then must drive back to University Ave. for a dinner party. John will dress-up. All new clothes. He did a heavy weight work out (high reps) and will shower. He tried the AbDoer and pulled something. I must try this chair. Supposed to help work that fat stomach off you. Am still digesting the Snicker's bar.

9:40 PM Back from dinner in Palo Alto. Found the place, found parking, walked son in. He was dressed in new clothes to the nines. I had my wear-like-iron black knit pants and a new shell-big shirt thing from QVC. It was family-style Italian food (lot's of it) and Tiramisu for desert. We walked back to car after two hours and got home a few minutes ago. Shed clothes as fast as possible. I had wine in a water glass, some Calamari, tortelinni and other pasta. Chicken Parmesan went by as well.

I am stuffed to the gills. Need to sip a diet soda.
