2002 Story Set
| May 10, 2002 Day 18 Friday May 3, 2002 Cat is Winning 2:00 AM Finished reading a book (Regency fiction) and now past tired. Had a 1/2 glass of wine and a glass of Crystal Light (not in that order). Felt dehydrated too. Settled down to sleep. Have dosed periodically while reading. 4:00 AM Cat attacked door. Needs claws trimmed. Can hear wood splinter. Put cat in bathroom. Went back to bed. Have a headache. Pushed off feather comforter. Better. 6:00 AM Cat attacking bathroom door, put cat under running shower (repeat until cat finally wet). Left him in room. Went back to bed. Cat has adjusted self for daylight savings time. Cat used to be back-up alarm clock when working. 6:20 AM Stubborn cat attacking bathroom door. Went to garage and got cat cage, put damp cat into cat cage and put cage in kitchen out of earshot. Went back to bed. 9:20 AM Got up and drank water. Let cat out of cage. Put dog out. Went back to bed. 9:25 AM Phone call from telemarketer. Answered because thought it was the delivery for the treadmill. Now awake as noise coming from son's TV. Headache. Tired. Stormed into kitchen for coffee. Cat tried to trip me. Cat has food and water, must want litter pan(s) changed. Demented cat. Was pretending to be snuggled up on son's legs when he woke up. Underhanded and sneaky cat. Son does not feed or water this beast. Son will not touch litter pan even if he could bend over and lift something. Have coffee now, will attempt brain resuscitation. Litter later. Sinus headache. Fuzzy ears. Cold day. Drank coffee, wrote checks. Must run to PO and drop off bills now. Head pounding. 11:00 AM Out of rabbit food and cannot find list of phone numbers! Argh! Son and I had cereal, now must make eggs. Still working on breakfast. Bills sent off. I went out with hair wild, no makeup and mismatched sweats. Spell it S-L-O-B. Phone numbers for rabbit people were very old (like two years) so probably would not work anyway. But I know it was here! Should not have moved piano! (Piano was where I was keeping the list and other important things. Worked for me.) Why am I so disorganized? I am ADD of course! 12:30 AM Hosed back deck and sidewalk from cherry tree stuff, again. Pulled patio table over to patio door with its umbrella. Noticed earwigs are climbing on poison box that is supposed to kill them. Hit one with the box. New swing will go on deck where table was. Tarps still in van. Emptied one litter pan (in back yard) and gearing up for other two. First must vacuum because living room being slowly buried under detreius. Notice that freshly washed kitchen floor (anything under one month is recent to me) is covered in dribbles of raspberry Crystal Light and pickle juice. Son claims innocence. Son is only chemo patient in house eating pickles by the bottle to kill taste of chemo drugs. Claims lid on jar when moving in and out of said refrigerator where the stains are. However, have been wiping up juice off counter on regular basis. Also, have been careful with raspberry Crystal Light and am not responsible for dribbles. Pickle jar is big as bought MaxPak at grocery store. Pickles may soon need own refrigerator. Son now yells at cat who is sitting and staring at him in a ploy to get litter box changed. Cat also clawing at Berber rug to pull up loops in a bid for my ire. Chased cat with broom. Cat is gamboling around the house. Cheeky cat. Cat also disapproved of food that has remained in dish over 24 hours. Tough luck cat! Dry food doesn't go bad that fast! Headache receding as fog drifts off. Have now changed to shorts. Heat coming up. Opened door in addition (new family room) for air. Washed up kitchen floor exposed by rugs after vacuuming rugs. Cleared out corner where have been sweeping floor stuff for last week. Washed corner. Dog food now outside in food bin. Litter outside under eave. Nordic Track called and should be getting another call this afternoon to do actual ship schedule. Good. Will now do liter pans. Not good to respond to cat too quickly. It will spoil him. Emptied pans (outside) and tossed into trash (contents, not pan). Hosed out pans. Opened patio door and am now running sprinklers. Need door open door so do not leave sprinklers on for three hours as have done before. While dumping things into trash, noticed dry pots and hosed the front yard pots. Noticed lots of bugs and spiders, need to get spray for yard to kill same. Cat christened clean pan. Of course. Ran to AAA for map to race after failed to print from Yahoo. Need to leave at 2:30 AM and am taking van. Truck too pretty to dinged in crowded lot. Truck also does not have camper shell. We will not sleep tonight! Got gas for van. Back at home, put litter in pan and brought pans in. Took four plastic cans to back yard for cleaning. Laundry and three wastebaskets waiting for wash down. Fixing Healthy Choice bowl for son, who is augmenting with Triskets and hot sauce, Pace Picanti. Having cheese Cannelloni from Lean Cuisine. Have been augmenting with Jelly Belly beans and Jordan Almonds. Set bread machine up with multi-grain bread but it was beating itself to death. Took out loaf, kneaded and put it to rise. Warmed up oven (helps bread to rise). Planning meals for tomorrow. Should go to Togo's! Take family thing with us! Hmmmm. Not a bad idea. 5:00 PM Back from Togo's. Two large number 8's (turkey and beef) no mayo. Checked cash level. Rounded up stray dollars and change. Have nearly $100, will travel. Should be enough. Will put carrots and cauliflower stem in for rabbit, feed dog extra bones, feed cats and chinchilla. Check water before leave. Only a day trip. (Only 6-7 hours of driving!) Yelled at child to clean room. Have provided bags. Have yelled off and on all day. Ha! Checking email, making coffee and will throw self on couch for a movie and rest. May sleep through movie. Sunday will check web for work (again) and will see placement person Saturday at the race. Next week will write to agent friend sent me, submit book idea, see if this is a match. Else must find another. 6:00 PM NordicTrack delivery scheduled for Wednesday, 8-10 AM. Bread done. Having a large slice fresh from oven. multigrain bread fresh from over and cup of tea will cause bread to expand in stomach, making dinner late. Took kid a slice, which he sent back until I added green stuffed olives. I made tea. He has placed items by the door to be placed in car, namely radio and CDs, and his camera. It is now cold outside, so we will have to have jackets in the morning and sweatshirts over short-sleeved tops. Planning on shorts and sneakers. |
