2002 Story Set
| April 5, 2002 I had my slave show up on Saturday - I had bought a guy from a Team in Training at auction and instead of cooking dinner he did chores - he and I scrubbed the spa clean (it was down for 18 months) The lid was moldy. The inside had some water in it and snails and stuff. My younger son was up and outside with us! The pump cleaner has to go into warm water - the spa - after running all day - has reached 80. Not hot enough yet Metal cleaner for the pipes has to go in - run around. Then we drain the spa and refill it again - this time for use. So--- he also helped my son assemble the portable fireplace I bought almost a year back. I brought the military press bench in from the garage - and my son worked out today! I meantime am in a coma - the bench was heavy! Yesterday's table and piano had already done me in! John and I pushed them against the sliding glass doors (drape behind the piano). Screws up the doors but gave us some floor space. The old living room now had the weight machine, AbDoer, and bench, with room for the Nordic Track. Pain in the butt but---- my son has been cleared for limited exercise. No straining. But he is soooo stable walking!! Just not handling steps at this point. BIG difference! We are skipping coloring eggs. I will cook Cornish Game Hens - my son's request This Easter was very different from previous years. First, I don't have to go to work tomorrow. Second, we did not do eggs. Third, I did not cook ham - since neither my son nor I need that kind of sodium dump. So I played with the spa, cleaning the pipes, draining it, refilling it, draining it, and refilling it at least so it can heat. I put in chlorine and metal begone. Ph levels are fine. By this time, it was past noon. I am making Cornish Game hens. Without a rack to put them up on. They are swimming in orange juice and butter. Almost done. Looks interesting to me! No candy. Easter lilies because I always get them. Tulips in purple. Very laid back. |
