I am back at work - under contract again - with
the new rules for contractors.
I have my new PC.
I carry it in and out every day. I have to do this.
Ridiculous!
I have reduced the size of the suitcase to one I
can lift.
I need to get a rolling backpack for it.
I am using the hospital bag #2 - #1 is in storage.
I have a load in the Van.
This week-end I must nearly finish cleaning the garage.
I am remodeling it.
My PC needed to have the Helvetica font.
Of course, I ran to Adobe and got Adobe Type Manager
Lite (free download).
I bought (and downloaded) Adobe Type Basics, a font
collection that includes Helvetica.
I installed.
Visio cannot see the postscript fonts.
Word can.
PowerPoint can.
FrameMaker can.
Yuck.
I found I need a "fix" - from Adobe. Just for the
XP. I got it.
Still no joy.
So tomorrow I will summon IP. (They had no answers
either.)
I have email - but no address book. IP again.
And a server area - I need to test and see if I can
get in it.
I am reading a seminar.
I am reading existing material for the data book.
I am about to drive an outline.
I am now in a position to understand the terminology.
Almost.
Frightening.
Only been there 2 1/2 weeks.
Tomorrow I will drag in a table (can we say sneakers
and jeans?)
And the ergo keyboard.
One of them.
It will stay at work as will the table. (Need I drag
everything in and out???)
Time to sort my office.
And time for the city to get done paving Maude!
I am still shaking from the trucks. All day. Back
and forth. Repaving. Loud.
Vibrated my desk. (Floowed by digging up the newly
paved street with a jackhammer - outswide my office.)
Why I am distracted and tired.
I am almost organized.
And my son almost out of those night classes that
make me drive back and forth to Ohlone 3-4 times a day Monday and Wednesday.
We become normal in about two weeks.
By then I should be up to my eyeballs in editing
text.
