Clean Up

2003 Story Set

Date: October 24, 2003
On Friday - besides trying to get my drugs refilled under Blue Cross - what trip! One has to have the Dr call in the Pharmacy. (I actually ran out of Lipotor - missed a day. No sweat. I am not overeating fat. I am reducing slowly. And I certainly had exercise! And I will be back on it shortly.) The other (asthma medication) has to have the Dr. Call Blue Cross!!!! For approval?
Like this wasn't on the list we gave them on sign-up????
Like this isn't why they are charging me over $600 a month instead of $300???
Fortunately, I have a few pills for the asthma while we sort this out.
Great show - asthma patient to do without drugs while they review their paperwork???? Good going Blue Cross!
(I have back-up inhalers from earlier so I will survive in spite of them!)
I went to Orchard Supply hardware and grabbed six containers and then tried to arm wrestle them apart because I only wanted four of them. Picture a big (185 pounds? I refuse to get on a scale. The spare tire is smaller.) old woman (nearly 62) bouncing around the aisle with six stuck-together bins trying to push, pull and shake them apart.
Someone came to my rescue. (He worked there - must have been a shock to see me struggling because I WAS determined!) After a few minutes of struggle on both our parts, I got the four bins I wanted and then I wanted four really BIG ones.
      Biggest ones they had.
So - ladder time. He went for a ladder. I put the four bins into the cart while he was gone and managed to whack myself in the face, driving my glasses into my temple. Ho hum! Undeterred, I got the four big ones.
He got to help me check out and then help me load the car.
      OK.
      Bins!
I packed up Easter and Halloween (most of it). I packed up my sweats and tossed a lot of them. Enough big baggy bleach-streaked old stuff. I did keep the purple Barney suit. Just for the Hell of it.
I packed up small and medium clothes I had yanked from the closet and had in a pile. I had previously packed most of the 1X stuff up too. I am in L and XL. And headed to L! It will be some time before I get to M! Time to chuck the rest out of the closet.
I packed up his old clothes in the drawers to the chest bed - now I can sell it??? They were "stored" in the third bedroom when we got him his new bed - and there they had remained.
I had to wash some things. Cat Hair! Little Bit hides in there.
I packed up all my evening gowns - I can't get in them. I have a lot of beautiful dresses - many floor length - all hand-made. Just stunning pieces. Crepe and velvet and satin. Much of the velvet floor-length pieces had to have a spin in the dryer - you guessed it - cat hair! Including that high slit low neckline dress I was making once in black velvet and silver trim that I actually never wore to meet Fabio! Someday I MIGHT fit it - or take it apart and remake it.
And all the velvet pantsuits - size M - which I am not! I wore them as my winter wardrobe. For two years. I will again. They were easy dressing - pants, top, necklace and earrings, heels or boots and off you go. At the hospital - easy off and into the baggy sweats. This was when my son spent 10 months in the hospital and I half-lived there. I took care of him and slept in those clothes.
I packed and swept and packed and loaded the car and packed some more. I don't need no Bowflex today! I was doing heavy lifting. I also took some packed-earlier bins to storage.
I FILLED the van and ran to storage ---- which is now FULL.
So I left message at the office - the unit next to me looks empty -----.
Maybe this time I will get the spa and the chest bed, the two hope chests and another chest and one or two books cases out of the garage.
And the luggage. Lots of it now.
And boxes and boxes of Fabio tee shirts and cups - my sister not being up on-line yet for eBay.
      And --- more Jettison leftovers.
There are three bikes in there - I'd like to know WHERE! I haven't seen them for a while.
      And my son's art stuff!
The garage is home to every box however large that comes though the house. Pre-packing clutter. There is even a really big one for all the zip lock and other storage containers. I have dozens. I even keep disposables.
But in the third bedroom (a tiny place actually) Little bit now had no place to hide!
So we caught her. Easy really, for she was totally confused. And we put flea stuff on her. Aha! And petted her a bit and told her she was OK. And let her decide to run for it when she wished. A black and white tank on tiny feet. Her stomach is dragging.
We also dropped the big drape in the living room off one of the 6' sliding doors so I could vacuum the cat hair off of it.
It was her other hiding place. This required moving the piano forward (my piano).
I still have boxes of my son's stuff to take over to storage, and boxes of books. They run up the stairs in the garage. One box per step.
But I can open the side door to the garage - which was becoming difficult. And that was an understatement!
I can probably get another load into the storage unit - one more van load. Just not the really big stuff.
      Ho hum!
      Another $200 a month????
      Whatever!
I still need to go to home depot and get two big replacement clothing racks - I have two that collapse a lot.
And I still need to pack up the left side of my closet. Suits I am not currently wearing.
I even took the third bedroom closet doors out to the garage. So I can at least look at my mink coat.
I have two more big bins. Who knows what I will pack next?
