2004 Story Set
| Date: August 31, 2004 He has full blown AML - and there is little that can be done - we really have about done it all. They will contact the donor - try more donor cells if they agree - and he stops PRoGraf (immune suppressant) now we watch and wait - they will try chemo if this takes off - so far it is chugging along. It is why his counts dropped and stay low. AML is not one that can currently be cured by other than a transplant and hope and they siad no second transplant - it has bad results. The leukocytes from the donor might do some good (20-30% success) . He looks and acts fine of course. I hold him and hug him as much as I can. |
